Pooh Scare? · 6:20am Sep 23rd, 2022

Not sure if it's a real thing or not, but saw a Winnie The Pooh trailer and he and piglett were no joke chopping and stacking up a body count.

Never thought I'd write those words, XD.

Absolutely, main reason I watched that movie about the killer dress....and couch.....and that one about the killer hand.

Several weeks ago, maybe a month or two, I was actually sharing this discussion with some movie groups I'm in and we've had tons of responses in regards to a recent trailer that came up. When I first heard that some guy would turn these characters into horror movie figures, mostly Pooh & Piglet, if you had told me that years ago... I would've laughed over how stupid that was. A fanfic, maybe, but a movie... no... I couldn't. Then ever since they went into the public domain, that's when I started hearing rumors and talk... then some scenes were leaked and I could just tell how 'cheap' it looks (Especially the costumes). But that being said... soon as the trailer came out, officially, I was like... 'Son of a bitch actually did it'.

I don't see this movie turning out to be some 'masterpiece' or anything, I already know that. I know it's going to be stupid, especially since we are talking about a feature that took 'ten days' to shoot in total with actors that we don't really know anything about other than the fact they're mostly British talent (Least I believe so). Are folks still going to see this movie anyway? Well... they did with that 'Jeepers Creepers Reborn' movie, people said it was one of the worst horror movies they ever saw but they still went to see it anyway.

Could this 'Blood and Honey' feature be a better movie going experience? Maybe not. But the fact is... it's Winnie the Pooh and Piglet on the big screen. People will come... whether they admit it or not. And those who don't, they won't really be missing out. Regardless of how this feature does, the fans will still remain loyal to the childhood productions they grew up with and the books they'd read to their kids before they go to bed. Who knows?

Maybe someone will see this feature and they'll ask themselves... 'How do we take this premise... and turn it into the family-friendly silly old bear we know and love?'. One day... someone will do a fanfic that follows this movie, but goes the opposite route with many, many changes knowing that this would never be on the screen. Folks will stumble upon that fanfic, some will end up saying it was better than the movie... others will say it's likely worse. But who knows? Anything can happen... they already made a horror movie after all. Now it's just a matter of when it comes out and how many will actually go to watch it.

Lol, true.

I just like cheese on my horror, no hidden agenda on my part.

LOL this blog post sounded like you were describing a fever dream. But yeah, it's somehow real. Gotta love public domain.

I know right!? I almost thought it was some odd fan trailer for a fever dream movie, but no it's all too real. XD

I know, I can't see them as wicked creatures feels too weird.

Going back to the subject on whether it is 'possible' to have a family-friendly rendition of this upcoming horror picture, it would depend on several factors. The reason only Pooh & Piglet are featured (With Eeyore being mentioned) are that those two were the major ones available due to the Public Domain. So in order for that FanFic to improve upon it, the author would have to ask if they could still include the other characters (Like the usual number from that 'Christopher Robin' flick that came out once upon a time) and... probably 'not' kill them off. But instead, it would be possible most of them were captured as a mans of reintroducing the Heffalumps and Woozles as the antagonists instead of what we have in this upcoming feature.

And in addition, if it's likely that Christopher Robin & his wife would get killed off in the beginning of the story (Ala 'Jaws' and/or 'Psycho' depending on the preferred reference), they would both need to play a major role along with those other girls who are likely the major protagonists (Hopefully at least 'one' of them survives during the final draft). It could be possible the girls were the wife's bridemaids gathered to have their bachelorette party for the weekend, while Christopher Robin would try to reunite with his friends (And try to explain why he initially didn't keep in touch with them prior to the events of the story).

But that's just food for thought. What do you think?
