Welp, I finally did it. I quit my job. I finally walked out and didn't look back.
After some tough months with a complicated medical diagnosis and a ton of stressful situations on me and my wife, my life has finally come to a point that I could have only dreamed of even a year ago: a time when I'll be able to sit down and actually work on my writing. I've written some short things in the past year or two, but I haven't been able to make any appreciable progress on the novels I started or the worlds I created... but that ends now.
Writing is one of the only things in my life that has continued to inspire passion and interest for me, regardless of where I was on a personal level. It's the one thing that I've wanted to DO with my life, and now I'm going to actively pursue that with the intent to publish things -- either self published or professionally, I'm not sure yet, but it's going to happen. I'm going to continue drawing, as well, and I have a few other projects that I have planned for my new self-paced life, but writing is going to be my main objective going forward.
Why am I bothering to post that here? Well, that's simple: because my very first project is to finish Consanguinity.
It's been sitting there for years now, taunting me -- so close to finished but left incomplete -- and I'm going to make wrapping up my biggest pony story my first priority. I'm not going to promise anything else will get touched, or that I'll write anything more than that, but Consanguinity WILL be finished.
I'm sure most of you who have read it in the past have moved on, and who could blame you? But for those of you who are still here, who want to see the finale of Skyla and Flurry Heart: your waiting is almost done. Bless you for waiting this long, and I can only say that I hope I don't disappoint you!
