Tales of the Battle Foals (Final Thoughts) · 2:35am Jul 5th, 2022
Hi! If you're here that likely means you've just read the epilogue of Tales of the Battle Foals, an epic that took me a whole six years to write.
I said this in the past, but I was heavily inspired by the lushly diverse cast of characters from a criminally underrated 2016 videogame called Battleborn. Characters are what makes a story for me the most, so when I was bombarded with such a creative cast, I knew I had to make something out of it, and I did.
I was just starting community college when I started this story, so I was very inexperienced as a writer, as the early chapters of the story like show!
Even in spite of that, receiving such kind words about how much people loved my story as it was ongoing was unspeakably motivating, especially amidst the trials and tribulations I'd face in real life.
Speaking of real life, those who'd been with me and this story the longest will remember that about halfway into the story's total completion, I kinda went Yandere Dev on everyone and only intermittently posted new chapters. This was due to 2 key factors:
1. A lot started happening in my life, more than I thought I was ready for, namely getting into a university, thinking about my future, completing my English degree, dealing with a bipolar stepfather, my parents suddenly but finally divorcing (it was a long time coming), getting my first jobs, and working on other stuff I wish to publish. I was stressed and needed to release a lot, so I ended up lazing around more and more and distracting myself with YouTube and games, especially good new one.
2. I realized too late that I'd bit off more than I could chew writing such a big, ambitious story right off the bat. There came a few points where I just wanted this story to be written and done, and each newly posted chapter felt like removing a band-aid. I want to write bigger stuff in the future to be officially published, and I guess that desire turned into arrogance that drove me mad. Writing this story ended up consuming some of my life.
As a result, and I know this is really going to upset many of you, I don't plan on writing a sequel.
I know, I know. I'm proud of the story and characters I managed to write, but I now know that I need to take bigger projects with more patience. That was the big lesson I learned writing this story.
That said, if, by some miracle, I do end up writing a sequel, it'd be significantly shorter, but that might be difficult to do well given the sheer amount of characters.
So I'll leave you this: If you want to write your own Battle Foals story, you have my full permission under the strict condition that you cite the original story.
I might post some shorter stories on here if I get the itch, and I have a WattPad page I haven't done anything with that I might have to now. I'll link it in another Blog whenever I get something on there, so be on the lookout!
This is Sirdubya, signing off.
That’s fine you don’t want to write a sequel, it’s amazing you manage to finish this at all, I may have only been tracking the story for a year but it sounds like you had some rough times.

I did. It was all a hard lesson learned, but I’m definitely gonna look back on this a reminder of what I’m capable of.
You dont have to write a sequel like the other person ended. You gave everyone the perfect ending in this story. I would honestly rather see other projects you end up doing in the future

Thank you.
I sadly didn’t catch up with the story since like 2017. But it’s great too see you finish this awesome story! Congratulations!![:pinkiesad2:](https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/pinkiesad2.png)

Thank you very much. This was definitely an achievement.
I love the story so much. This is definitely a masterpiece. I hope a sequel is made, maybe even make my own.

You have my blessings so long as you cite the original story.

Thank you. I already have a idea. It involves my paw patrol oc name Brine and your cast. BRINE in this version is a obsidian weilder and will be a some what enemy as he gets angry and aggressive very easily. It will as involve the prime pawpatrol universe world as a conflict between humans and the pup resistance. Does that sound like a good idea.

I have no knowledge of the Paw Patrol universe, so I have no idea.

I'm a fan of the show, a serious fan, alone with being a brony. If your curious about my type of story telling, check out my username profile Nukekiller123 on wattpad or Fanfiction, mostly Final Wars I recommend you check out. It's my first mega crossover story.

Also, I always had crossover the two for a REALLY long time. My mind works really differently then most people. A autism thing.

As an Aspie, I can relate to that.

Same, just means we're special then most people.
