Short version: on the Winter Solstice, December 21st, from the perspective of Earth, Jupiter and Saturn will appear as being lined up because of their positions being lined up with Earth's own orbital position. This is extraordinary rare.

Big deal if you're an Astronomy buff, bigger deal if your sincerely held spiritual beliefs hold the Winter Solstice dear to your heart.
I'm not exactly a fan of the fact that some folks are jumping the gun and calling it a Christmas Miracle. If was happening on Christmas Day or Christmas Eve, then I'd have nothing to say if Christianity's Winter Holiday double dip got a cosmic event, but hey; to each their own.

The Winter Solstice is a very special time of year to many, including myself. Especially so to our Equestrian friends, as it is Hearth's Warming, a celebration of unity and friendship.
Perhaps we could remember that friendship is a good place to start all celebrations.

By the fates, I have been aware of this phenomenon for about a year now and yet I'm still in shock that I will lay witness to it!
