"A piece of the sun in her mouth" - An AI-written pony-fic #2 · 4:41pm Nov 5th, 2019

TL;DR: This blog post contains a pony-fic written by an AI. ...No, it isn't Botnik.

If you're reading this, you're probably familiar with the insanity that is "Botnik Sparkle makes a Hoof", in which I'm using Botnik's predictive keyboard to co-author a My Little Pony fanfic that's so insane only the unholy union of man and machine could produce it. :rainbowwild::pinkiecrazy:

What follows wasn't written with Botnik. AI doesn't need humans to write ponyfic anymore. :derpytongue2:

It is another story by talktotransformer.com, just like "Pinkie Pie left the time machine". (If you want more info on that, see this blog post.)

The green-highlighted sentence was my only input, everything after that was written by AI.

My only further influence after that was how much of the AI's output to put back in its input box, since its input and output are limited to a few thousand words at a time, which kept it on-topic... somewhat. I did also remove two sections that were less interesting, but everything else remains unchanged besides added formatting.

Please note, I did NOT just hit "generate" a couple of times and then copy-pasted the first thing that came out into a blog post. Instead, I generated 20,000+ words worth of "stories", read and re-read them numerous times, then selected some of the "better" ones.

Don't just spam AI-generated vaguely pony-related fics. Cultivate the best ones. :raritywink:

"A piece of the sun in her mouth"
by OpenAI GTP 2 / talktotransformer.com

.

Princess Celestia raised the sun.

The sun set and Celestia returned to the castle. The sun set again then the moon rose through the air.

As soon as the moon came up Celestia and Applejack went to look for Princess Celestia.

Just as they started to leave, the Queen of Clouds and Snow burst into conversation with the others, and Applejack and Rainbow Dash decided against going.

"Applejack..." the Princess said in a sweet voice.

Rainbow Dash reached closer and said in her hooves, "I guess you're my 'sister', so it's best we stop now."

"Pity that we couldn't keep our guard up!" Applejack said.

Rainbow Dash shook her head in exasperation. "Then just say hello to yourself and the others and come over with us!" she said, taking off after Applejack.

Applejack sighed, and said, "I might, Applebee. I may try."

Rainbow Dash looked at her, "So you're going to help me figure out how to stop the big green hornet?" she said, looking at where the pink pony was pointing at.

Applejack shrugged, "I'll make sure I keep you informed."

The purple hornet squawk echoed through the cave, but not as loud as before. It was just a squawk, and nothing special.

"What's happening here," Twilight asked nervously.

Applejack looked up at the hornet tentatively, and a look on her face that she hadn't seen in almost another four years of the battle made Twilight think her eyes were red. "They're going to try to get out." She looked back to Rarity, who was watching the whole battle from the side.

"Yeah," Applejack said as she and Twilight headed down to her cabin, their destination. Pinkie Pie, the little bird Applejack was sitting next to, was there too. Twilight looked down on the two of them. "...It's kinda scary. Don't you think we should go home?"

Pinkie Pie's voice rose in excitement. "Yup! Twilight! Don't you think it's a little strange?"

Twilight didn't respond, as she did nothing. "I guess you should at least get some rest." Her wings fluttered around her and she started off toward the woods.

Twilight and Applejack looked behind them. "...Oh, Twilight," Rarity shouted from behind the tree. She turned around, and she saw a glint of sunlight dancing across her reflection. "What is that!" She started to yell, and then all of a sudden there was no light and everything was dark. "Ah, Twilight, you! What's gone wrong?"

Twilight shook her head no. "It's nothing. But we should get back. We are in trouble!"

As Twilight stared into the woods, she could feel something pressing her, and she couldn't tell what. She took a few steps back. It was only then that Twilight knew that she was holding a piece of the sun in her mouth. "Ugh!" Twilight said as she pulled away. "I'm sorry! It's nothing."

Lick.

She drew in a deep stream of water as long and thin as a pebbled surface, and licked the skin of her mouth. It was beautiful. It made the sun burn. It made the sunlight bloom. A piece of the sun.

"You said it sounded very good, didn't you Princess?" Twilight murmured.

Liar.

The princess snorted. "It is. It was perfect, and so many things about it are very, very beautiful. So beautiful that I wish I could hold it for all to see."

"Wait! What? Are you going to hold it forever and ever and ever? Are you going to hold it for me and for the rest of us - for all eternity?" The princess's voice grew hysterical as she started to cry. "Lick up my tears!"

The dragon roared and flapped her wings over the top of the dragon's chair. "Oh yes... Lick up my tears. I cannot wait to kiss you one last time, I do not know why, but you will indeed live forever in my heart, Princess Celestia."

"Mm... I shall do better than lick up any tears that may fall at her feet, but I don't know what my heart will be like before I leave you," she said, as her head fell to the floor and the dragon started sucking on her hair.

"Please don't die yet, you know I would love nothing more than for you and all of us to die together once again. I shall come back as a queen no doubt," Twilight moaned. "Please... please, please let me live," she prayed.

The dragon sighed and sat on her stomach, kissing her hair in return. Her body trembled as Twilight leaned down to wrap her arms around the dragon's neck.

"I promise I will never do that to you, Princess Celestia. And I love you more than anything," Twilight said at last.

The dragon shook her head, rubbing the back of its neck affectionately. The unicorn then kissed her once more. Twilight gave one last long lingering kiss with the other to seal that secret peace for good.

For now! :trollestia:

I did remove two passages that were less interesting. One was about AJ throwing various colored hornets and pieces of string up in the air to combine them, and one was a chase scene with AJ, Dash, and Princess Celestia running around the castle chasing Princess Celestia wearing her royal robes, repeatedly and alternatingly calming down and panicking about the Princess not being there even though she was literally with them searching for herself. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What is this madness?

5150946

What is this madness? What have we become? A collection of people who never seem to know what they want anymore. Maybe it's just my personality, but I still feel like one of those lonely, self-absorbed fools. And for years, I have been hoping this wasn't true, that maybe I was just projecting it onto the world outside. Maybe I was just being an a**. Why didn't I just leave? Why didn't I just get over myself and be happy and just be happy for myself? It has been a while, hasn't it? But I still feel like one of those people.

Wow, you made talktotransformer.com go existential. :rainbowderp:

This was the only answer it was willing to generate. :derpyderp1:

In any case, "What is this madness?" It's the answer to the age-old question "Do robots dream of electric sheep?" Apparently they dream of electric ponies, Harry Potter, Wikipedia articles, and social media comments instead. :derpytongue2:

I'm currently writing a fic for a differeent fandom, and I think I've just found where to raid for ideas if I'm unsure what to do next. Or at least have one hell of a laugh.

And Luna pounds her hooves on the outside of the dream, trying to find some way in to free her sister and her friends from this trap.

Seriously, given the seamless unannounced shifts in location and context, this feels very dreamlike.

It was just a squak, and nothing special.

All I have to say to that is this:

"Well, why don't you check it out for yourself." Mr. Chu stepped towards the moon, and then, a small moon shadow appeared next to it. "I am the owner of the Moon Shop."

"Is this a joke?" the old man who was standing next to Princess Luna snorted.

"It appears you are the owner of the moon shop," Princess Luna pointed towards the direction where the owner was.
