... to the comments on the last Firefly chapter yet. But work is a royal mother-of-a-diamond-dog right now, and I've been coming home late and exhausted night after night, in no mood to do anything. I will get to them this weekend, promise. My vacation can't come soon enough at this point; I'll be off to a week or two in Las Pegasus Vegas to get my fill of poker and the desert after Memorial Day. Who knows, maybe I'll run into Aces Up and Double Down (from Five Star Service) out there?
I will at least say for now that I'm very gratified by the reader reaction to the latest chapter and would like to thank everyone who commented. That was a very draining effort to write, but seeing how much it was enjoyed makes it all worth it. Thanks as well to incoming readers--welcome to the story!--and to my prereading team again for making it shine. An 18k word chapter takes a long time to examine and edit, needless to say, and they were all troopers for plowing through it.
If you do run in to Aces and Double, hope they don't basically rob you blind.
