Bloodborne:EN Question · 1:16pm Mar 25th, 2018

Now, I know most of the people following this story are a little cross with me, seeing as we haven't had an update in over a year. However, I promise that the story is coming; it's all planned out, I just have to write it. That being said, I have a question for you guess concerning the story's point of view.

Do you guys prefer the second person "You" that the story currently follows, or would you prefer I go back and rewrite the story from a third-person perspective following a pony as they traverse through the nightmare. Note, the rewrite of the first few chapters wouldn't take that long; I'd just be adding a name and dialogue for the character, which I already have written down somewhere on my Drive.

I say keep it as is.

Keep it like it is dude it’s great. I can’t wait to see what you got.

I say take a good hard look at what works best with what you have planned. Usually third person is best, sometimes it's first person. Every once in a while second person is the best way to tell a story.

2nd person is annoying and belongs in Choose Your Own Adventure books at best.

While 2nd person has its merits, I don't think it's a good fit for this type of story.

This fic isn't really structured to be comment-driven, a role playing scenario, or the like, even though Bloodborne is an RPG of sorts. It really all boils down to whether you think that the reader should immerse themselves in the story and imagine the events happening specifically to them, or if the story would be better suited with a character having a particular personality that would fit well with your narrative.

Everyone is different. Given what I know of the source material, my gut instinct is that it's an unnecessary variable that could be detrimental to the experience for some readers.

Agreed. 2nd person is so weird for me to read. Breaks any immersion to the story.

Go third person

Given the structure of the story and how the basis of it works, it's better off staying in second person. It keeps close to its source material and gives an overview of how the world works and currently works. And 2nd person works better than most people believe it does and works in more areas of writing than thought.

Personally I would prefer having a character to follow throughout the chapters and get to know through their interaction with others instead of a nameless protagonist. Having said that I will read the series regardless of what format it is in I'm just pumped that the story is coming back with a vengeance!

Third person would be better

3rd person pls

seven months later and this blog still seems to be nothing more than empty hype for a dead story.......
