So, I've been a bit quiet for a while, and I think it might bear some explanation as to why.

Mostly, it's that last weekend, my study abroad in Mexico ended. This Friday and Saturday, I'll be moving into my apartment on campus to start the new school year. Real life prevails, and I've been a bit tired getting run all over the place.

Next, after a good month and a half, the people at Equestria Daily finally told me something about my story. Yaaaay!

It was good, but it needs a bit of a tune-up before they actually post about it. I've been given quite the extensive run-through on places I could work on, and I'll be spending time doing that as well as working on the new chapter.

This is exciting. Like, really exciting. I haven't actually had any sort of extensive feedback or criticisms on my story until now, and I have the opportunity to really dig down on my weaker points. Some of the criticisms he made, I think I'll refrain from correcting for now, especially since I made some of those decisions consciously, but I'll have to keep those in mind as I progress. The main issues I've been able to glean are my habit of using weaker verbs, repeating words too closely together, and sounding unemotional during more emotional parts. I also have a few formatting and capitalization errors scattered here and there.

I'll probably end up putting way too much effort in correcting those mistakes and end up too far on the opposite side, but we'll see what happens. If anything, the biggest concern I have is whether the new chapter I'm writing is necessary or even entertaining. I'm thinking about taking on another editor. Another pair of eyes might really do my story good since I've been mostly going at it alone, but it feels like way too much effort to find a willing editor who'll help point out the more in-depth issues my story has. I might as well just get better myself, at that rate.

Anyways, there's your kinda-sorta status update from me! I'll try not to keep everyone waiting too long!
