I think the biggest reason for going to Badlands National Park for a week, aside from wanting to see the buttes, prairie, and wildlife, is that it's away from everything and everyone.
No Democrats. No Republicans. No feminists. No cops. No social media. No crowds.
I'm short, it's perfectly isolated from all the fucked up shit that is going on in the world today that I'm so fucking sick of hearing about.
In 36 days, for one week, none of that is going to exist for me. One week, it's just me, my camera, and the wilderness.
Because it has gotten to the point where I can't even get away from it in SWTOR general chat. Give it a goddamn rest, for fucking crying out loud.
If it's any consolation, there's only four more months of this. It should die down after Election Day... one assumes.
