    How is everyone?

    Hello.

I wasn't very active last year. Normally I write blogs to let people know that I'm still roaming about on the site, but for some reason last year, I didn't. I'm sorry about that. It's not like I had anything going on either, I was just lazy, I suppose.

    Merry Christmas!

Blessings unto you on this day, December 25th.

2020 has been such an awful year. It's destroyed lives and families in the wake of a terrible and virile plague. In light of this, I wish people the very best day in 2020, wherever you may be. Please be safe and hearty. Let us make 2021 a better year for all of us.

    Deleting another story

Gonna keep this short because I don't care for this particular story enough and I know well enough that neither do you.

I will be deleting A Song of Angels from my library at my discretion of course. The artwork as done by Turbopower1000 will still be available on his Deviantart, considering that the artwork is probably plastered over the internet, having them deleted wouldn't matter at all.

Spoilers: New Story!! - Treasures and Trinkets (structured blog) · 1:28am Jan 11th, 2016

This blog contains spoilers to my newest story, if you haven't read it I recommend doing so before reading this blog. I wanted to be more structured with this instead of cramming it together is one big paragraph so enjoy my tiny biased review.

Hello my friends, Chaos Phantasm here to announce his newest Nyx story, Treasures and Trinkets, a prequel to A Mothers Warmth... and currently its giving me mixed feelings. :applejackunsure:

Backstory - Some backstory. I started the story during the period I was offline, from October 22nd to November 21st, I managed to finish it within a spate of two weeks, without distraction. And trust me, I get distracted easily and can never meet a deadline. This story has been prepped for submission since early December, but I needed cover art. TealessTea my now ex-girlfriend was to be the one to draw up the cover, but after a period of silence following the second year anniversary of our relationship, that job when to shelbythehedgehog112, thus far the only artist to have three story covers under her belt and I have been harsher on her then the step mother to Cinderella, I wanted this cover done before the turn of the year, but alas it came too late. It took two weeks to get the cover done, and she could have easily finished it in two days, personal life stuff got in the way and my patience wore so thin I almost asked FlavoredMoon to do it instead (she has the honor of being the artist for an offshoot side fic of another prolific authors story I am doing), but Shelby got it done and I apologized.

The Cover - Now the art is up, the story is posted and immediately, I noticed it was sub-par to what its predecessor A Mothers Warmth. Not a lot of people grabbed at it, it's still getting attention I have to give it a chance. But having been my most recent story since A Mothers Warmth which did phenomenally upon release, I am disappointed it hasn't been as popular. Tealess if she reads this should be proud of A Mothers Warmth, I attribute the cover arts likability to the stories success and A Mothers Warmth was crazy loved and still is.

that said, shelbythehedgehog112 is actually upset that her art isn't appreciated all that much. I've come to realize a story doesn't do good if its art is not digital. I happen to rely on her art skills a great deal, only making acceptations if I feel it cannot bring the story what I desire or if its out of her league. I'm not giving up on her, Treasures and Trinkets art is fantastic, digital or not and I'm looking forward to seeing the results of what her cover brings for the story.

Story - A bit unorthodox, isn't it? Well you don't see many Nyx stories containing different characters such as Gray Gale, I believe this is the first side-story he's been in. The idea of the doll comes from Trinkets by Pen Stroke and if you read it, then you'll see some things from Trinkets are in Treasures and Trinkets, the training dummy Nyx made into a Twilight doll from Trinkets is the sole focus of this story, something so minor and I give it more purpose than its worth :rainbowlaugh: I had fun writing this story, I put a lot of the same feeling I put into A Mothers Warmth into it and if both are read, you'll see they both share some the feelings, from Twilight's motherly personality to the humor of Nyx and Spike. The ending I felt was needed as we never did see what happened to the dress after Nyx teleported it away.

Canon - A Mothers Warmth shares an unofficial canon with Pen Strokes The Road Home, unofficial meaning its part of the Past Sins original universe (at least to me) but Pen Stroke has not and likely won't make it official. This mindset helps me to write Nyx stories in a more peaceful manner compared to Conflict, Nyx and the Sunset, Tears in the Snow, and its upcoming sequel. A Mothers Warmth is set after The Road Home, so the canon isn't loose, it has a firm grip into it, but Treasures and Trinkets canon, like Conflict to Past Sins, is loose.

It doesn't quite fit, my reasoning is because Pen Stroke wrote The Road Home before season 5, therefore Twilight and the others never went to Starlight's Village. Treasures and Trinkets tries to ground itself more into season five, between episode two (three if you count The Cutie Map as two parts) and one. So there is that continuity issue. But regardless of how tight the canon between A Mothers Warmth and Treasures and Trinkets is, they are still prequel and sequel. A Mothers Warmth is just closer to Pen Strokes universe.

I'll draw my blog to a close here. How do you like my structured story blogs? Do you think I should do this form now on when introducing new stories? Or do you prefer how I used to do it? :ajsmug: I'm eager to find out. I hope you all enjoy the story if you decide to pick it up. To my followers, expect a new story later tonight.
