Feathered Hearts C&C chapter 40 will launch tonight

I apologize for the long delay. The chapter draft was submitted to prereaders a month ago and well-received, but the graphics have taken me a while and several false starts. The main reason is I tried multiple methods to include unit icons in the maps of Aresia, but the end result always seems more cluttered than anything else. Here's an example:

    Without unit icons:

New Midnight Rising chapter off to prereaders...

At long last. This is the redo of the chapter I was forced to scrap in April and then about 80% rewrite. I saved a few select bits and pieces from the original version, but the rest went by the wayside.

Still pecking away on Midnight Rising and Feathered Hearts...

The two Lemon Zest chapters of Midnight Rising have now reached 26,600 words and they’re still nowhere near done, with probably another 5-6k words to go. Gotta treat the girl right, after all, and also make sure there’s plenty of sexy side dishes around her. And as for Feathered Hearts?

    Still working on Midnight Rising...

At the rate of about 800-1000 words a day. That’s my key to getting stuff done that’s causing you issues; just be sure you put at least a little time in on it this day to have some forward momentum. The two chapters are now up to 24,100 words. I’ll work on it more this weekend, at least around continuing work around the maps and battle graphics I’m making for Feathered Hearts.

Did two things this past weekend...

First, I ran 10k for the first time in two months after laying off that long to let my ankle bursitis subside, trying to allow the area to generally heal up. It appears that it worked. To my delight, there was no ankle pain after and I hadn’t even lost much stamina thanks to hitting an elliptical machine twice a week for an hour instead of jogging. My upper legs are another matter, though.

Trick or Treat! · 12:20am Oct 28th, 2015

The new chapter of Five Star Service now stands at 8800 words and will likely be over 12,000 before all is said and done--a double-length chapter for the most important chapter of her life. All the princesses will be there, and you'll at last meet her first human... which readers of a certain DEL work (*cough*Changeling Roun*cough*) should already know the identity of anyway. :ajsmug: It's looking good so far and I think everyone's going to love it. I'm aiming for a Halloween release.

No trick, folks. Hope you'll enjoy your treat! :pinkiehappy:

How do you only have 99 followers? :rainbowhuh:You should have WAY more based on your writing content.

3501415 At least to me.

I shall enjoy this treat.

I appreciate you saying so, thanks. Unfortunately, what I don't have is an established hit, and given my habit of writing involved plot-driven stories instead of 2500-word one-shots, I'm not too likely to have one. I did write a very large chunk of the Turnabout Storm novelization, which garnered 1500 likes, but almost all the watches for that went to the story owner, Raven Regios.

I've tried to be patient and earn my likes and views. it's been a long, slow climb on this story, but at least I'm seeing some success towards the end. As for my other two stories, The Lawyer and the Unicorn is controversial for obvious reasons, while my most conventional story, Rise of Firefly, is having trouble attracting new readers. All I can do is continue to write, advertise, and hope something eventually breaks through.

I daresay you will! :pinkiehappy:

3501754 I'll tell my friends to check your story's out. Did you not get credit for your work?

3501769

Plenty. But a lot of times people don't read the authors notes or comments where credit is given. I'm fine with it. The main thing for me is that I kept a promise in completing it, and I did a bring a decent chunk of the readership over to read The Lawyer and The Unicorn.

3502320 I found The Lawyer and The Unicorn on YouTube when someone recommended me to read it after I asked about a extension of the story.

Really? Where? Under the videos themselves?
