At 7:49 Am this morning, New Horizons made it's historical flyby of the Pluto system, it's hard to believe how far are species has gotten, from caveman to an Intelligent species that has accomplished many technological marvels. Today we add another technological marvel to that list, the accomplishment of visiting all the planets in our solar system completing the First Era of Planetary Exploration. But the countdown is not over yet, New Horizons has gone dark to gather scientific data on Pluto, and with New Horizons traveling at a incredible speed of 30,000 MPH, something the size of a grain of rice can cause some damage. So we wait to hear back from New Horizons to get the data, and hoping it didn't suffer any damage. We'll here back from New Horizons in the evening around 9:00 PM.
