    Tape Deck's Mixtape: Track 32

Back to my scheduled alphabetized list of bands again.

I found this one while looking up stuff about Custard. Jebediah's Australian as well.

Leaving Home from the 1997 album Slightly Odway.

(A play on the phrase "slightly odd way")

    Tape Deck's Mixtape: Track 31

    Dear listeners, I forgot one.:facehoof:

Finding You by the Go-Betweens, from the 2005 album Oceans Apart.

They had some popularity in the 80s, but I know them because when they had a bit of a revival as a band, the new drummer is also the drummer for Custard.

    (Glenn Thompson.)

    Tape Deck's Mixtape: Track 30

dang it's been a month since I started doing this (roughly).

    Tempus fugit.

Jack Johnson's a pretty good soft rock/acoustic pop/whatever musician, and he also did the excellent soundtrack to the 2006 animated film Curious George.

Flake from his 2001 album Brushfire Fairytales.

Some Amateur Photos of the April 8, 2024 Eclipse. · 2:20am April 9th

I can't believe 2017 was seven years ago now. Boy, time zips away fast.

That year, my locale only got a partial eclipse, but it was still pretty interesting. I got to see the real deal this year, though.
I just used a regular Google Pixel 2 to take these, and it was kind of hard to figure out the right way to get a good picture of the eclipse.

This was my best one:

There's also this, and a few others I won't clog this post with:

It was pretty weird. There weren't many changes happening outside at first, except for the Sun being slowly covered by the moon.
(These were taken through my eclipse glasses, sorry.:derpytongue2: I took a bunch more of all of the different phases, but I have to go through a lot to get my own pictures on here.)

As totality approached, though, it started getting darker, and it even got a bit chilly outside. Once it was within about a minute of reaching the point where it covered up the biggest part of the sun, it suddenly just got darker faster and faster. Then, totality was reached, and it was awesome. I feel really bad for anyone who had to deal with cloud cover. I hope this blog post helps, if only just a little bit.

Oh, and seeing as I can't seem to post anything on this site without linking music in somehow, here's a combo from ELO that was actually released as the two sides of a 7 in. single in 1975. Nightrider's my favorite ELO song, and the two songs together always make me think of the Princesses of Equeatria.

Thanks! I'm glad someone found this just by searching for it!:ajsmug:

Awww!

Not amateur at all, that first one is totally beautiful! Wish I could've seen it, but I did feel that sudden chill. It was soon weird, everything got dim around the clouds, but I knew I had missed this unique phenomenon.

Thank you! Your PRINCESS CELESTIA AT 3 AM story was great. I'll be sure to check out some more of your stuff.

The picture quality could have possibly been even better, but I had to take a screenshot of the photo once I got it onto my computer. The way I upload my own photos on this site takes too many steps, but at least it works.

5775936
I know, the site could be more photo friendly.

Still, they look really good! I love how the phases just shifted, each one is so pretty!

Nice photo!
Why must your avatar be so cute...

5775932

Great pictures! I'm on the other side of the world so I couldn't see it LOL.

That's my photo there.
You were just using it to draw a comparison.
Boy, did I not realize that.

Nice. I video taped it on my phone from the park in southeast Illinois. I’ve thought about uploading that 5 minute video of totality to YouTube so I could show you that probably soon. Those are some great pics. That’s pretty much exactly what it looked like where I was.

I would be happy to see that. Thanks.

And thanks for saying you liked the photos.

I found this blog at least a week ago, but it's taken me this long to upload my single good pic of the eclipse to postimg.cc:

97% totality. It was supposed to be cloudy, but all we had were a few high, thin cirrus clouds. They turned a weird shade of gray during the peak of the eclipse. A few streetlights briefly came on, and I think that I heard crickets. I don't know why I only took a few pics. I took a lot of pics of last year's eclipse, and several of the 2017 one.

My damn phone crashed, so it'll be a few minutes before I can post my best pic of the 2017 eclipse. :facehoof:

Hold up: 2023 Eclipse?
(Nice pics)

5783289
The 2023 eclipse was "annular," and the path went across the western US. Half the reason that this year's eclipse was so special was that it was the second one visible in the US in six months.

Here's my best pic from "The Great American Eclipse" in 2017.

My camera filter was two welding goggle lenses taped together. The reason I love that camera is the 5x optical zoom. The fun part was getting it to focus.

5783294
Oh yeah, with my phone, I had just about a 1 sec window to take a picture before it unfocused itself when I took some of my photos.

Nice again.

For some reason, I'm getting a "timeout fetching image" error box in place of my pic of this year's eclipse, so I'm reposting it. I hate it when the pics I post stop working! Postimg is supposed to be permanent. :flutterrage::twilightangry2:

WHY ISN'T IT WORKING!!!???!??! Can you see it?
Linky.

5785701
Yeah, and I see your old ones too.

Weird.

Nice to see you went through a few of my extraneous blogs.

5785755
Of course, NOW it's working. :derpytongue2: :facehoof:

I was prowling through your old blogs looking for something, but got distracted by this.
