    Today's Epistle is from the Book of Acts, 11: 19-26 and 29-30 (oca.org skips verses 27 and 28. Not sure why.)

    So after a few weeks of being unable to go to church on Sundays, I came to a thought. While Eucharist is out of the question for a number of reasons, anyone who is Orthodox is allowed to do the Scripture readings in church. So here it is!     My father is dead

    This evening, Feb 27, I was sitting and watching shows with my mother and sister when my father was shot and killed on our street. The man was arrested this same evening, so he can't hurt anyone else-- though a part of me sinfully thinks, "A little late, that."
