According to Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary episode: The Day of the Doctor, the Tenth, Eleventh Doctor went back in time and changed the events of the last day of the Time War, they froze Gallifrey in time in a pocket Dimension: Gallifrey dissapeared and the Dalek fleets wiped each other out in the crossfire.
Now the Doctor has to find Gallifrey and unlock it from its freeze in time, wherever it is.
Crazy thought. What if the hints were from himself in the future and were directions to where Gallifrey was locked.....in the "pony Universe's" dimension.
Galifrey is restored, and the Doctor can retire and live out his last life peacefully! (mostly)
