So I forgot to tell you guys that I submitted Bloodletting to the Royal Guard, and heard back from them recently. Unfortunately, there was a lot of misplaced grammar and the like, and so my story was rejected. However, it should be noted that the proofreader's biggest gripe was that the story simply didn't cover enough ground. He told me the story would have been more effective had I included more back story, including the death of Ditzy's mother and father, and her growing up to become
