Nighmare Moon was banished for one thousand years. She had more than enough time to plan her return. Every aspect was intricately planned down to the letter, for maximum dramatic effect to instil sufficient terror in her future subjects that they would bow down without question.

At least, that was how the plan was supposed to go.

In simplest terms, Ascellal Regression is a rarely observed phenomenon where young pegasi show a distinct aptitude for flight from a very early age, but become less capable as they near adolescence. Not much is known about the condition, rare as it is, since fewer than one in one-hundred-thousand pegasi show signs of it. For the symptoms to be displayed by an alicorn is totally unheard of. And yet, fate persists.

Princess Flurry Heart, with gentle nurturing from her mother, came to reluctantly accept her lot in life. With occasional mood swings and fashion choices to vent her frustrations. Luckily, her father has his own ideas for overcoming the situation. Whether or not these ideas hold any merit, that remains to be seen.

In a small cottage, nestled at the border of the Everfree Forest and the town of Ponyville, lives a mare named Fluttershy. A sweet-natured pegasus, she made it her life goal to ensure the safety and comfort of as many animals she could feasibly extend her care to. But a disproportionate amount of her time goes to making sure the wants and needs of her pet bunny, Angel, are met. There's more to him than meets the eye, though. More than Fluttershy could ever comprehend.

It is not difficult to grasp the notion that Rainbow Dash has very little in the ways of scientific or thaumatic knowledge. But, sadly, that doesn't stop her from having ideas. It especially doesn't stop her having ideas that are based on the assumption that she does have some amount of scientific or thaumatic knowledge.

In short: try not to be within ten miles of Rainbow Dash when she has ideas.

Sunset Shimmer is no spring chicken, that much is for sure. Her best days are a long, long way behind her. A lifetime ago. But nobody, not even an equine-turned-human, is immune to the passage of time. And as an elderly Sunset settles down to enjoy a quiet evening on the porch of her small cottage, an old friend pays one last visit.

On a crisp, clear, autumn day, a solitary figure trudges into town. No stranger to travel and new places, Ponyville strikes her as a warm, welcoming community. It may even be a suitable place for her to lay down roots. Finally settle down, have a home of her own. After all, how could a small town so quaint in appearance be anything other than a calm, quiet, pleasant place to live?

The Sweetie Bot Mk-XLI is the latest and most successful integration of a proto-equine unit, surpassing the previous models in every conceivable manner. And thanks to the seamless upgrade and re-insertion procedures, including the connection to the hive mind cloud data network of Sweetie Core Memories, nopony has ever noticed when a previous model has been replaced with a newer one.

Mk-XLI has been in place for several weeks now, and so far the re-integration has appeared to be successful. But today there appears to be a network error in the school yard that she is struggling to rationalise. Why are some ponies staring at her?

The Great and Powerful Trixie cares not for performative norms. She will go out, dazzle the crowd, and be utterly, flawlessly spectacular for every single show. No exceptions. Such is her skill, she doesn’t even need to practice her tricks beforehand.

Except, that is, when she performs with a lowly subordinate lovely assistant in the form of Starlight Glimmer, who believes it better to go through the performance several times in private. What a waste of time, the run up to a show should be spent preparing for curtseys and resting ones autographing hoof. What could possibly go wrong?
