I don't write, so much as I perform acts of high-wire fiction without a net. Come watch me fall! I believe in narrative coincidence, the transcendent power of hopeful creativity, and the Oxford Comma.

Recommended Reading (Fanfic Spotlight) · 9:18pm Apr 10th, 2014

I've recently been asked to write up a weekly series for Everfree Northwest, spotlighting stories loved and recommended by the staff of EFNW. The first edition of the Fanfic Spotlight just went up a few minutes ago! I encourage everyone to check it out, both because my own ego would thank you for it, and because you might find something cool to read too. Also, make sure to follow the

Hole In The Sun Status, and Convention Updates! · 10:54am Mar 20th, 2014

Status update: I just finished writing Chapter 5 of The Hole in the Sun and sent it to my prereaders/editors. It clocks in at over 16,000 words, but closes out the flashback entered into with Chapter 4. It may be split into two separate chapters due to length, but they'll each be published as soon as editing is finished if that happens. So probably only a couple days apart if my editors focus on the first part to begin with. I'm hoping at least the first part can go up by the end

Hole In The Sun Status (and Everfree plugs!) · 2:30pm Jan 19th, 2014

So yeah, three weeks since the last chapter. Ouch! I really thought I could keep up a faster pace. It's hard at times though. Part of that is because real life has kept me busier than usual. But if I'm completely honest, I just got a bit scared too. This is a crucial point for the story, and I can't deny that self-doubt lead to procrastination. The good news is that I think I'm past that (at least for now.) I have 8,000+ words written for upcoming chapters. The problem is that I say "chapters"

[Upcoming Story] Three Wishes: The Hole In The Sun · 1:26pm Nov 18th, 2013

In case anyone reading this isn't clear on it, "The Hole In The Sun" is the sequel to "Three Wishes: The Cutie Mark Crusaders Before They Changed The World." My brain seems to be writing this story backwards. I know the ending. I know the epilogue. I have a good, solid grasp on the big scenes, important points, and general "main plot." What I've had the most trouble with is how to begin the story. I think I've finally got a start on that though. That's good, because I need to start publishing

Upcoming Story: The Ministry of A.S.S. (Prereader request) · 8:39am Nov 1st, 2013

Don't worry, Three Wishes is still on schedule. The next update is Saturday, as usual. I'll hopefully have more news on the sequel, The Hole In The Sun, as well by then. For now though, side project!

How (not) to scare away potential readers? · 11:27am Sep 14th, 2013

So, I had some random little idea for a story about six weeks ago. I started writing it a week later when I had some time, thinking I'd end up at maybe 8,000 words or so. Just a quick, but actually plotted/planned story -- unlike the two hour contest that resulted in Desperate Times. Apparently without that kind of contest deadline though, my brain doesn't do "short." I'm currently at 30k words, and think I've got at least another 10-15k to go. In other words, it's kinda long, and that's what I

Wow, so I'd never been to a real convention before, pony or otherwise. As such, I really had no idea what to expect. As I'd never actually met any other "bronies" in real life, I was a bit nervous I'd feel really out of place and/or alone there. I am not the most outgoing sort when I'm around crowds. It took me a bit to get into the swing of things and I discovered entirely new realms of social anxiety along the way, but in the end I had an amazing time! I met some really awesome ponies,
