1085433 It was definitively conflict of interest. While im a sucker for changeling stories, I really liked the characterizations of everyone involved, especially shining (A feat in itself, since there is not that much character to him canon wise). Also the balance between bizarre but not too out there humor (Shiny sleeping with his sword sounds like something he might actually do) and some slightly dark themes. Probably should have written this as a comment on your story, but ah well, I got started and wouldn't stop rambling.
