I've noticed a bad trend within our fanbase, which is that we take a one-off joke and make that into a character. This happened with both of them, though in different ways.

Derpy/Ditzy: After the episode where Derpy (supposedly) says, "Muffin," we're greeted with an onslaught of images about her being obsessed with muffins. Later, as it's revealed that she's clumsy and has a "lazy eye", we're greeted with more images about her being slightly less intelligent than the rest of Equestria.

I've honestly lost interest in the fanfiction side of things when it comes to legitimate works. I never get noticed except for a few people, and even then they never seem to come back to the story.

I know this is going to be hard for some of you; after all, I have two relatively popular stories that I don't believe in anymore. Father Mare was over when it was rejected from TRG, and ARE has been off the radar for years now. Let's hope I don't get too much hate over this.
