It's certainly been a way to start the new year for me. I came down with something on Christmas. Not sure what it was; it wasn't COVID, but it sure knocked me down. Ended up missing some work as a result. Not much thanks to the holidays, but I still feel bad because it was a busy day that I missed and I was having difficulty on some of the other days as well.

I just don't know what else to say right now. At this point in time, having an account feels more like something that I'm obligated to keep up to date than something I can enjoy and step away from for a while if need be. Am I supposed to have nothing else to do in my day than write? I don't like making this seem like an archive, but this is just a hobby for me. I can't balance everything as easily as I wish I could. Hey, everyone. I had an unexpected development last night and I wanted to keep you all in the loop.

Basically, my laptop had an error while I was online and it restarted, but when it came back on, it was stuck in a loop. I took it to Best Buy this morning and it's going to take a few days for them to diagnose it. Hopefully, they can figure out what went wrong and fix it or at least salvage my in progress documents in case I have to start looking for a new laptop.

What a way to close out the first week of the new year. My mom tested positive for COVID this morning and is going to be out of work for a week or longer, our nice elderly neighbor caught it yesterday and has regained enough strength today to walk with a walker, and the family of one of mom's friends also tested positive today.
