This story is a sequel to The Cuddlequest of Earth

The ponies came to Earth. They saw humans. They cuddled humans. And yet... in yet another different time and in yet another different place, things have been... reversed. The natural order of things is just... reversed. How?

Who cares? Let's watch as Princess Celestia discovers a form of friendship magic more potent than she or even her student Twilight Sparkle has ever had to contend with.

There's a new guy. A bit weird. Calls himself "Anonymous", for some reason. Whatever, dude. A bit egg-headed, like my best friend Twi. They talk a lot about this or that. I can't really keep up with their nerd talk. Recently, they've been talking a lot about these things called "fossils". Rocks that used to be bones... or something. Legends about cool monsters that don't exist anymore tends to get lame when you start throwing around nerd words like "Holotypes" or "Taxonomy".

I'm a weather pony, not a paleontologist, paleobotanist, paleo... anything. I just hope Anon doesn't get any weird ideas in his head.

"Captain...Lord Captain's Log: Date... what? I don't.... I have awoken. I am covered in bandages and medical devices. I... have no recollection of who I am and what I'm doing here. My doctor says it's amnesia. Boy, if that's all that was wrong with me today... everybody around me is expecting me to be somebody important, somebody grand and impressive. I hope I still am. I had best get my act together, whatever it is, before whoever my boss is finds out that I don't remember what my job is. I mean, what even is a Rogue Trader, anyway?

Before the year 2014, the notion that the scientific community would not only be unable to dispute the existance of magic, but would be researching fervently into its secrets and application would be laughable and regarded as fanciful theory making.

Not so much anymore.

Now, Twilight Sparkle assists research into the developing field of Agapízology: the science of physical affection.

In other words, snuggling scientists and test subjects for science and profit.

Sometimes, in the grand scheme of the world, it becomes necesary to act as an agent of conservation. Conservation of what?

Lots of things.

This time, though, it’s changelings. Ponies are less than pleased at this.

It was the Cuddlequest, an event that is rare, but impactful. Earth was the target of such a Snuggle-fest crusade. Humanity was subject to the magic of friendship, and that of nuzzling, hugging, hand-holding, and all sorts of other forms of platonic touching.
