Looking For A Little Help/Some Suggestions · 7:24pm Jan 10th, 2015
Hey Everyone,
So, this might seem a little bit random, and I'm sorry to say I can't really tell you why, but I need a bit of help.

Hey Everyone,
So, this might seem a little bit random, and I'm sorry to say I can't really tell you why, but I need a bit of help.
Well, despite feeling a bit lousy, I get to be a little more chipper today.
I'm done with the transplant! As I mentioned in my last blog, by all medical standards, I was officially ready to go home. My stem cells have officially grafted to the bone marrow, which means they'll start working on their own and rebuilding my immune system bit by bit on their own. I just need to take some time to recover.
Well, as the title implies, this is not the kind of update I was thinking I was going to make today, but it certainly was a shocker.
So, I realized I haven't done another update for a few days, and I figure Christmas day is as good as any to do so, so first off—
Happy Holidays, Everyone! And since it's the one that I celebrate, I will also make a point of saying Merry Christmas! Because screw political correctness.
Well, the day I was kind of dreading has arrived— the delayed side effects from treatment have started kicking in, but luckily I'm not getting any of the really horrible ones (*knock on wood*). At the moment, my voice is just kind of shot, and of course the fatigue is still there, but this was all to be expected, so I'm not really worried. Gotta power through the worst of it and let it ride its course. When I'm back up and kicking I'll try to hit that writing and editing again.
Onward!
Well, today's the big day. The stem cell infusion should be starting within the next couple hours, and I'll be getting another dose of sleep-inducing pre-meds, so I doubt I'll actually be doing anything (other than sleeping, duh) DURING the infusion, which really should only take an hour or two.
Hey All,
Well, I was a little on-edge last night because the doctor apparently hadn't gotten the confirmations about the viability of my stem cells yet, so I spent the night in the hospital with the potential that the transplant might not actually happen, and I might have needed to go through the mobilization process again. I am amazed I was actually able to sleep.
Heya Everyone,
So I guess you could consider this "late," but I figured I'd go for updating everyone and wishing all my fellow Americans a Happy Thanksgiving (even though the day is technically over now) at the same time. Hopefully you all are having a nice, food-induced sleep, because for some reason, I was still awake past 2:30 in the morning after watching How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Hot Fuzz (both awesome movies). I just woke up to find that I had never posted this update...
Heya guys.
So I'm currently sitting here in the hospital getting my final round of chemotherapy before the transplant process begins on December 10th (yes, a definitive date now!). Only one of the lumens is hooked up at the moment, but they'll use one more shortly. I think the third one will remain unused this time around, but they'll definitely need it for the transplant. Anyway...
Hey Everyone!
If you were temporarily worried, don't be fooled by the blog title. Things are still going pretty nicely on the path toward my stem cell transplant. It's just that now that I've gotten closer to it, this is when the REAL shit is starting, and my energy level has dropped a bit.
