This story is about Derpy growing up with her parents and each chapter focused on a time she has a new experience. Starting out with her birth as a newborn foal. Follow along as Derpy grows up and matures in Equestria. She will be dealing with many issues such as her special eyes, and other problems any filly encounters on their journey to marehood. For this story I'm going to use average ages for when a human child will experience certain things biologically. Such as learning to walk, talk, teething, their first memory etc...

Rarity screwed up, and mistakenly believed her coltfriend would stick around. On her own raising her daughter Sweetie Belle would kill her career. Rarity pleaded with her parents to no avail, and came up with the perfect solution to overcome their reasoning. Though there was no time to waste as this had to be finished in time to leave for fashion school.

Ever since her birth a few days ago all Dinky has known is nothing but darkness, a never ending hunger pain in her stomach, and her so called "Mother's" cold and cruel personality. Perhaps leaving her foal abandoned in the end was the kindest act The Great & Powerful has ever performed for her daughter. At least now some other kind pony might rescue Dinky. After being rescued and semi raised by Rainbow Dash, one day Scootaloo suffers a tragic event, costing her one of her greatest joys in life. Make sure to read all author's notes. Also until the story plot gap is bridged please plan on more chapters before Chapter X which will be numbered when I get to it in the timeline.

Derpy gets to rediscover what love from another pony feels like, and Dinky has a new sibling on the way and couldn't be happier.

Edit 9/19/2018: I'm back guys after my long hiatus. I plan to be actively writing again for the time being.

This will be a short story, around the 2000-3000 word range (edit: I lied, this will hit the 10k word mark and possibly on up to 15k as I didn't expect to do this much writing for the amount of plot I had planned in my head).

Derpy has been deemed an unfit mother, due to her mental condition, and has a real chance of losing custody of her only foal. Before that day comes though Derpy remembers how Dinky came to be, how her only source of pride and joy is tied to such a painful memory, and all of the time spent raising Dinky.

I'm writing this story in honor of a friend of mine who went through a very similar situation.
