That's... just a smidge creepy.
Hi there, new watchers! Please do not consume my blood, it is very high in platelets. That's like cholesterol for vampires!
So, I figure everybody's gonna be posting their reviews of the season 4 opener any time now. Why should I be an exception this time?
My impressions, in brief?
MYTHOLOGY AHOY!
Fluttershy didn't make it, guys. I'm sorry.
Why does everypony hate Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara so badly?
That question came up recently when discussing my latest (clop)fic, Special Talents (NOT foalcon, as you probably already know if you're reading this!) After all - we've got Gilda, Blueblood, Trixie - so many other characters on this show who are portrayed as horribly nasty people, if not bullies in their own right, and they get not just fan appeal, but one redemption fic after another!
Throughout the history of fandom, shipping has always been a rampant source for controversy. Back during the early days of fanfiction, the term "slashfic" was coined to refer to any socially taboo pairing, referring to the / put between two characters names. Over time, however, it came to be used to refer exclusively to male/male couples, Kirk/Spock being the prototypical example.
This, I think, best sums up why I don't care for HiE fics.
Hidy-ho there eveyrpony!
Midwestria is happening again next year, 9/20-9/22, and I'm hoping to host a few panels again (you'd think I'd have learned my lesson, but noooooo!)
So... would anypony care to join me? I know that some of the ponies on here I enjoy reading are in the area, and it'd be a blast to have some folks to play off of during panels!
But not dead either!
I've been poking away at a major project for some time, as I've hinted to a few folks in PM's. Well....
It's your friendly neighborhood alienist here once again to shamelessly whore myself out promote the finer social events of our times.
This weekend, the Professor will be at Midwest FurFest under the guise of one Jay Spiritbear, and ALSO doing double duty at Days of the Dead Chicago under the guise of that guy guiltily pawing through the grey market tables for the things you just can't find these days.
