A 14 year old teenager doesn't have it the greatest. Everything around him just seems to crumble away. He rarely sees his father, because he has to work on the road. His brother wounded up in prison and his mom and her boyfriend have to work consistently to keep the apartment in a neighborhood they all hate, so he could get an education and not end up like them. He wasn't the most emotionally stable.
Then the day came and he lost his closest friend.

Prince Sombra was ruler of the Crystal Empire, and good friends with Princess Celestia. But all that changes when dark magic starts spreading around the Crystal Empire, and Sombra falls victim.

Vinyl Scratch, one of the best artists in Ponyville, is shown up at a club by Neon Lights. A few days later they learn about a Mixing Battle Royal. Vinyl drags Octavia into it, knowing that Neon won't give up the chance to show everyone his skills.
