Amateur fanfic writer and reader. Sometimes I get dreams, dreams of ponies, and wish that someone would write a story based off them. So why not me?

Sleep is an interesting thing. For some creatures, it is a an undesired necessity. Children, for example, will refuse to go to bed, no matter how tired they truly are.

Spike is a child and it doesn't matter how much he's yawning or how much difficult he has keeping his little balance; he is not tired and he will not sleep.

"Bedtime," says Twilight.

"Not without a fight," says Spike.

If she had been a good little filly, she would have listened to her mommy and daddy and her teacher and the esteemed mayor of Ponyville. If She had been a good little filly she would have stayed indoors, hiding under her bed as she waited for the Royal Guard and the Princesses to arrive and deal with the dragon. If she had been a good little filly, the kind of child that always got what she wanted for Hearth's Warming, she would not be on the trail leading up the mountain, to where the dragon now rested.

Glitter Belle is not a good little filly. She is a curious one, whose curiosity has brought her face to face with a very, very large dragon. Let's hope it's in the mood to talk.

For Spike, the Summer Sun Celebration was more than the celebration of the summer solstice. It was the day he and Twilight came to their new home in Ponyville, the day the Elements of Harmony were rediscovered, the day six mares found a bond so powerful, it would define their entire world.

For Spike, today was a day of remembrance.

This story is a sequel to The Revival of a Heart

The Alliance has failed. The Prophesy has failed. The Essences of Concord have failed. With Prince Ramth Sethiop's betrayal, the Demon's awakening was all but secured.

Ash lives on however. Though his friend's actions haunt his very soul, there are others that can help him mend his wounds.

Adapting to life on four furry hooved legs isn't easy however and neither is integrating himself into Equestrian culture. Ash will face dangers he never would have imagined: sugar overdoses, proper horn care, a trio of fillies with hypnotic abilities searching for their talents, Winter Wrap Up, and scandalous notes in the shape of cartoonish hearts.

Life was easier when most problems could be solved with a simple fireball.

A sequel to The Revival of a Heart.
