NeverEatTheLemonsAlone

I enjoy long walks on the beach, dressing up for a formal occasion, and descending into the depths of technicolor horsey madness.

The warplight drive has become the core of civilization, expanding the horizons of equines and letting them spread across the stars. Aided by the Veritas Inter-Systemic Trading Coalition, ponies have taken up residence in three separate solar systems: Celestia, Hooftauri, Horsehead. Now, Equus is a desert. It's been abandoned to the consequences of rampant expansion, and the world is now one of extremes, of enormous sandstorms and oceans of caustic acid.

In the year 662 ALR, a Starjumper SS14 jumpship malfunctions catastrophically in the Celestia system. In a lonely lifepod, a pony plummets to the unforgiving planet below. He must brave everything that stands in his way if he wishes to return to his job, his home, and his life.

After all, it's a long way down.

She watches me always over her shoulder.

She knows I am there. I have been for a long time, for years beyond number. Biding my time, waiting patiently for her to end. As patient as I am, though, I am growing tired. Though I know that one day, she must relent, she must cease fighting and come to me, her time has not come yet. She still burns, yet not brightly, always keeping one eye out for me.

Perhaps today, the day has finally come.

Perhaps now, at long last, we can both rest.

Written for the Sun's Final Rising contest.

From the Void came Cosmos, and from Cosmos came Light. The stars of the universe, dancing with boundless, raging fire. Each has a soul, and until they unite, they cannot be complete.

22 years after a devastating civil war following the disappearance of the Celestial Diarchy, the world has changed. The empire of New Harmony fans out across most of the known globe, subsuming everything in its path that dares resist its rule.

Rainbow "Danger" Dash is an ex-military pegasus hiding from the empire she tried to bring down in the slums of New Canterlot, making her living as a mundane mechanic.

Duchess Rarity Belle is a silver-tongued diplomat living in Old Canterlot. She advises the current acting regent, Lady Steward Twilight Sparkle, while waiting for balance to return to New Harmony. Behind her perfect facade, though, something else hides.

AJ is an earth pony farmer who, tired of the increasingly ridiculous tax on selling fresh fruit, has come to the capitol to appeal to the Lady Steward, so that she can feed her ever-growing family.

The three meet, quite by chance, and begin, driven from their homes, on a mission to change the world, and to alter the course of history. Not all harmony is created equal, and peace is only found at the end of a long, bloody road.

The Ripple shakes the world in a cataclysmic rupture of time. For a short time, all the separate, disparate threads of time become one and the same. The merging nearly shatters the Central Leyline and destroys all life until a single pony tries to stop it. This is not her story.

Long before the three tribes ever began to war, a single pony traveled to the farthest reaches of the world to search for the truth hidden in the icy North. This was not her story either.

In the distant future, a single pony will embark on an entirely unexpected journey to find out why the sun stopped moving centuries before her time, leaving the world trapped in the endless half-light of dusk. This will not be her story either.

In fact, it's not the story of any single pony.

It's the story of three of them.

The Elements of Harmony were annihilated in the final confrontation against Discord. Without them, there was only a matter of time until things fell apart. In a world without Harmony, the Solar Dominion is locked in an endless confrontation against the Lunar Sovereignty. Neither faction has a distinct advantage. The entire race of ponies is quite literally tearing itself apart.

Enter Twilight Sparkle, a uniquely gifted battlemage under the tutelage of Princess Celestia. Sent on a clandestine mission into Lunar lands, she must keep her identity secret at all costs as she recovers a mysterious relic that will tip the balance of the war. She isn't the only one with their own agenda in these treacherous lands, however, and with nopony to watch her back, she's going to have to do it herself.

A side story to Gravestones

Among all of the countless books in the Royal Canterlot Library, there is one that is never put on the shelves. There is only on copy, a small brown one, bound in leather and twine. It is the journal of a pony that is no longer truly alive, yet not dead.

Luna and Celestia, last survivors of the long-gone Discordian reign, recount stories and memories before the graves of those that they loved so much.

First story in the Graveverse/whatever I'm going to call this universe.

Clover the Clever was one of the greatest spellcasters of all time, only falling short of her teacher, Star Swirl. No pony could match her spell for spell but he.

Her friends are departed. Private Pansy is in the far south, exploring new territories. Chancellor Puddinghead and Smart Cookie are far too busy with diplomacy to ever speak to her. Commander Hurricane has flown far to the north to chase the Nimbus Ring. Her last company is her oldest friend, Platinum.

Now she's alone.

Platinum vanished without a trace right front of her, immensely powerful magical energy nearly burning her senses. Something has taken the Once-Princess, but unlike Hurricane, she has no need to travel far into the outer reaches of the world to find what she seeks.

No, for Clover and Star Swirl, the culprit lies far closer to home.

A side story to From The Mist.

Lastly, if you dislike my story, kindly leave a comment telling me exactly why. Every bit helps, and I aim to please.
