The students desk have human-like chairs and the students sit upright on those, if you count leaning against something AJ (Lesson Zero, The Last Roundup), RD (Read It and Weep, A Friend in Deed), and Pinkie(Return of Harmony) have done that, In "Games Ponies Play" at least AJ and Twilight
