I aspire to much, but am accomplished at little, as much as I wish it weren't so.

The Life of Fear, Chapter 4.1 - or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Unemployment · 5:27am Dec 29th, 2012

So...I may have lied when I said "Chapter 4 by Christmas". No, scratch that - I definitely lied when I said "Chapter 4 by Christmas". But this chapter was going to end up being the size of two chapters anyway, and I managed to get it roughly half-done before the end of the year, and I felt bad for not producing anything, so I'm giving it to you as-is.

A Duel of Power - a Duel of Wits · 6:59pm Dec 1st, 2012

It should be fairly unsurprising that I have always loved the more world-building episodes of MLP, and S3E5 was certainly one of them. There are never episodes that deliberately point out "Here are the facts, and here's how they work", of course - and for that, I am grateful - but the writers do a wonderful job of dropping just enough hints to keep the world tantalizing, while still allowing us to run rampant with our theories.

The King is Dead; Long Live the Princess · 11:58pm Nov 10th, 2012

Wow. That premiere, huh? It certainly managed to live up to the hype.

I, personally, really liked it - not so much because of the plot, though that was well-executed, and had an excellent flow, but mostly because my personal headcanon Equestrian magic system escaped from the episodes, not only intact, but with a fair amount of backing and enhancement.

And lo!, another hopeful artist comes; hoping for only a fraction of the recognition that those he worships recieve. · 2:00am Nov 10th, 2012

I have often found and heard that, to an artist, their own work, whether it be their music, their words, or the stroke of their pen, is always worse than they expected it to be. "If only I had added a note there - if only I had been a bit more descriptive - if only my lines had been smoother." The quest for perfection is relentless and unachievable and, quite often, is a major block to continued production. One feels that, if their own critique is so harsh, surely that of any other must be as
