Dan The Man

"Writing a book is an adventure: It begins as an amusement, then it becomes a mistress, then a master, and finally a tyrant." - Sir Winston Churchill

A lawyer doesn't always want to know what really happened. It's a tightrope walk. Whether or not the lawyer believes in his client's innocence is not the issue. It's his duty to defend his client - no more and no less.
— Ferdinand von Schirach

Nearly one year has passed since Australian pilots discovered Equestria in the middle of the Indian Ocean.

Now the world watches in awe as, with the Princesses' blessings, one of the most ferocious and dangerous tyrants of the equine world - none other than Chrysalis, the Queen of all Changelings - is marched before one of the highest courts of law of the human world - the International Criminal Court in The Hague, the Netherlands.

But the Queen is wrathful and determined, still one of the planet's single most powerful creatures.
How can mere humans, who know next to nothing of her mystical home, achieve justice for the Equestrians?

Alexander Estermann is a conceited defence attorney who will have to wade through a quagmire of vengeance, racism, manipulation, lies, hearsay and self-deception to get to the core of the affair.
Seemingly the whole world is working against him - up and including the Queen herself.

Rated teen for liberal swearing and gore for minor gory descriptions and pictures.

Disclaimer: This is not a story that is meant to reflect reality. Several things about international law have been changed to accomodate the scenario and make it, well, readable. If that should offend you for any reason, I wish to apologise in advance.

A sequel to My Little Dashie by ROBCakeran53.
Haven't you ever wondered how apparently no other people caught on after the sonic rainboom Rainbow Dash achieved above a wretched North American city?
Well, what if they did?
And what if they misinterpreted it at that? In a time of PATRIOT acts and Wars On Terror, would they have not taken a closer look at the occurrences?
This story is set roughly a year or two after Rainbow's departure.
It tells the story of a government agent on his way to investigate into the mystery behind the "2014 Fort Pleasance Bombings" - and how he will find this case to be more than just a routine tailing assignment; that there is something else behind the explosion than just terrorism.
But it also continues the protagonist's - Brian's - tale, and how he had managed to fare without his Dashie - how he went to live the life of a hermit, and only now gets his strength back to face the outside world beyond his dear Dashie's memories.
But will he notice soon enough that his secret was now in the crosshair of the investigators?

Edit: Should one dislike the story and prefer to thumb it down, please leave a reason why. Healthy criticism is always welcome, after all.
And another thing: no, this story is not set in the US. Caught you there, didn't I?

PS: Thank you a lot, guys, thank you for 50 favourites for this humble story!
You rock. Woohoo.

It is the year 2012. When military pilots discover a previously
uncharted Bermuda triangle-like area in southern Oceania, a cordon around
the area is established.
Soon it is noticed, that inside the cordon, there is a large, isolated and
utterly undiscovered land mass. And it is inhabited, too.
The UN, upon realising that the inhibitants' civilisation seems to be
highly advanced and organised, decides to send a diplomatic mission to
make a proper first contact, and to achieve a peaceful cooperation with
the rest of the world. Had they only prepared both sides properly, they
may have not have had the risk of a full scale war...

This Fanfic will be posted in form of two... no, four scenes per week.
It is, as it heavily relies on dialogue, kept in form of a piece of theatre, (with music cues and all). Please don't judge too harshly, it is my very first piece of Fanfiction, as well as a Pilot (as I will most probably post sequels to this to flesh out side characters). Please leave lots of feedback in your comments on what I can possibly improve. You'd all be really helpful.

Enjoy.
