Daring Do is a fearless adventurer, a mare made of myth and legend just as much as flesh and blood. She recovers ancient treasures, thwarts evil villains, and writes best-selling novels. Her life is a collage of masks, false identities, and cover stories. How else is a girl supposed to stay one step ahead of her foes while mocking them?

But everypony needs a place to call home. Though there is nothing "mere" about her, Daring is only a mortal mare. When she faces monsters from the far past and snatches artifacts of doom from the clutches of evil masterminds, she is not motivated by just a shiny payday or a sense of patriotism. On one chilly day, the adventurer gets a warm reminder of why the world is worth protecting.

Luna wants to protect her little ponies too. It is her duty to step into their slumber and keep them safe from the horrors of the Dreamtime. But she has been away for a thousand years, and before she can help others face their nightmares, she must come to terms with her own. As she tries to transcend reality and enter into the sea of dreams, Luna remembers how she let hatred into her heart, and the price both she and her Nightguard paid for her fall.

Can she ever earn forgiveness for her crimes? Perhaps Equestria truly is better off with just one Princess to rule over the day and night. She is small, her body weakened by the Elements of Harmony, and this beautiful world her sister watches over has no need for her.

No. No, we will not be forgotten. It is our duty to guard the dreams of our subjects, and guard them we shall!

This story is a sequel to Love Is Its Own Reward

Everypony knows Spike would walk across hot coals if Rarity asked him to, even if he wasn't fireproof. A few years down the line, he is still happily helping her design dresses and mine gemstones. However, his fealty is to Twilight Sparkle, and everypony knows that without him she might accidentally level Ponyville! When Rarity finally feels he is ready for a real relationship, how will the dragon choose between her kiss and his duty?

A follow-up story to Love Is Its Own Reward, set a few years into Friendship is Magic's future.

Vinyl Scratch sits backstage, getting ready for the biggest night of her career. This is the largest crowd she's ever performed for, and the grandest club she's ever performed at. Anypony would have a few jitters, especially since all this happened so fast. There's a lot of pressure on her to perform, and she's worked hard to prepare for tonight. When the moment comes, will she choke, or will the quiet support of a friend help DJ-P0N3 deliver her best show ever?

A note, this story is a continuation from one of my earlier works, What The Heart Wants. If you like one, I hope that you will enjoy the other, but no prior knowledge or reading is expected! The only prerequisite for this story is an appreciation of cartoon ponies.

Octavia's cutie mark is a treble clef, but that is only her destiny. Her parents had a different plan for her life. Neither her parents nor her destiny asked what she thought. At the bottom of her heart, all this little pony ever wanted was to know that she was not alone against the world, and to play beautiful music.

Now with a follow-up story, Render Unto Them Wubs.

=#= Written for the Octavia Fans One Year Anniversary Contest. Root idea stemmed from a backstory for everyone's favorite grey cellist that has been rolling around in the back of my head for a while.

Who wants to read what's in Celestia's private mail? Spike has a crush on a certain unicorn. This little dragon has grown up under constant literary bombardment, so it's natural for him to write out just why he cares about her. As he grows a little bit older and wiser from his contemplation, he sends a letter to Princess Celestia about his feelings and questions his own bloodline.

=#= Wrote this as an exercise in Spike's perspective on his life in Ponyville. For one thing, how he would have rationalized acting the way he did on the night of the Grand Galloping Galla. For another, how he would have responded psychologically to Rarity saving him when he was on the rampage. Overall though, this was inspired by how a crush matures or declines when one grows up. Good things do not always wither and die, sometimes they have strong roots.

Now with a follow-up story, A Kiss and A Duty.
