I laid awake, staring at reflected light from the window on my ceiling.  Tomorrow was going to be important, I knew I should try to sleep, but it was being difficult.  On the other side of the upper floor she slept, in that room for the last time. It was never going to happen, but I worried that my breathing, maybe even my heartbeat, would wake her.

I spent the whole time thinking, about our past together, the good times, the fights, everything we said we would do together.  I remembered it all, and one by one, let it go. It didn’t matter anymore, none of it. Tomorrow, Vinyl Scratch was going to leave, and I would never see her again.

Story is canon only up to the end of Season 4. This story also uses the original fanon last name for Octavia, because I like it better.

This story is a sequel to A Pony Called Death

During one of Rose Petal’s first few years of being Death, Princess Luna ropes her into her yearly tradition of terrifying the foals in the Everfree Forest.  This year, she has an elaborate haunted house planned, spanning an entire wing of the old castle. Rose is determined not to work tonight, so can she avoid scaring foals to death while also keeping her boss happy?

Father used to always tell me that one of the keys to being a good ruler and an organized pony was to keep a journal. So, like a good little filly, I did exactly as he asked. Books upon books I filled up with random musings and other small tidbits of information that I didn't realize nopony would really care about.

At least until He came into my life. Suddenly, the journal I had never used too seriously took on a whole new meaning. It became my best friend, my confidante. Now, it is a way to remember the good times after so many bad.

My name is Cadenza, forever branded as the one who lost the Crystal Empire. This journal is both my warning, and my confession.

Part one of the Heart Trilogy

Siblings. Many of us have them, and those who don't have heard stories. Of the laughter, of the teasing, of the jokes played, and the battles won and lost. Celestia and Luna are no different. If anything, their friendly sibling rivalries are tempered by their positions and power. So, when Celestia plays one prank too many, Luna declares an ancient rite not seen by anypony in a thousand years.

With the newly-reformed Discord and Captain Shining Armor as judges, the two sisters swear to not stop for a full month, or until one sister surrenders.

The question is: will Equestria survive when its very ruling body is trying their best to prank the other into submission?

Pinkie is not always the easiest pony to be around, with her maniac energy and crazy outbursts, but she means well, and she loves her friends dearly. What her friends don't know, is how sensitive Pinkie really is, so what happens when she overhears a discussion had by her friends, about her?

The death of a loved one. It is normal, something everyone goes through many times in their lives. Sometimes, the best thing to do is just put on a smile and carry on like normal. But sometimes, carrying on normally just isn't an option.

In the dawn of Equestria, several ponies were given unique jobs to aid the Princesses in making the world around them run smoothly. Of the offices created, by far the most important was given to a pony by the name of Mortis--the office of death. His job was simple: he was to collect the souls of ponies dead before their time, and send any lingering spirits--in the forms of ghosts--back to eternity.

Centuries marched by, and Mortis grew weary of his job. He appealed to the Princesses, who saw the pain in his inability to live a normal life. Princess Luna gave him a task. She said that if he could give the office to another pony--willingly--he could live his life as a normal pony, and vacate the office of Death.

Thus, the office changed many times over the years. The office brought with it some power, and much responsibility. In time, without fail, whoever held the Death cloak eventually wanted to pass it on, and the rules to do such never changed. Now, the current Death, a pegasus by the name of Dashing Cloud, is ready to move on. An earth pony by the name of Rose Petal is nominated, the only pony alive who could fill the role.

But, as she will quickly find out, Death is not a job for the faint of heart.

Look, you know as well as I do what's going to happen soon. But just in case I don't make it out alive, you have to know the whole story.

The wedding was a disaster. Chrysalis had taken over. We Elements were defeated, and scattered across Equestria. Princess Celestia fell in battle to Chrysalis, possibly forever damaging her magical prowess. Likewise, Luna was defeated, leading the first revolution. It lasted a grand total of ten minutes. Shining Armor was held hostage by Chrysalis, preventing Cadence from doing anything, even if she had the energy. She... Shining is no longer in any danger.

I miss him so much..

If everything goes as planned, tomorrow it will all be made right.

On the off chance that it isn't, take this journal. It chronicles every single painstaking step I took to get us to this point. If we fail, ponies need something to hope for. Maybe our story will inspire others to take up arms and liberate this pathetic excuse for a nation.

Hopefully, Equestria can rise again.

This is going to be the posting place of the random ideas in my head that I want to write, but don't really deserve their own place. Be it either trying to cure writer's block, or boredom relief during school. Here is where the good stuff will end up.
