"What is better...to be born good, or to overcome your evil nature through great effort?" -Paarthurnax, Elder Scrolls: Skyrim

E

Vaati the Wind Mage has been experiencing dreadful nightmares. Princess Luna takes it upon herself to drive them away, but in doing so, she finds a kindred spirit, and an unexpected friendship is formed.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: This little omake was inspired by the cover art (or at least it would be cover art if FiMFiction wasn't being a butt), which I drew on a whim. It's a short side-story to MLP: The Adventures of Vaati. I promise that will be updated one day. I don't know when though; I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to continue it.

When the energy of the Crystal Heart shattered the evil King Sombra's body, everypony thought the ruthless tyrant destroyed. But it is not so...

King Sombra was more prepared for defeat than anypony thought. Deep within the frozen arctic, the Crystal Tyrant revives his body and reconquers the Crystal Empire overnight, incapacitating both Shining Armor and Princess Cadance in the process. Sombra has also learned from his past mistakes, wreaking havoc when the Equestrians least expect it.

War is coming, and Sombra has no intention of losing a second time. It will take all the strength of Twilight, her friends, and many of their previous enemies to stem the tides of darkness and stop King Sombra once and for all. And this time, the Power of Friendship may not be enough.

Rated T for some depictions of war violence and gore, along with some swearing.

Cover Art is not mine. It was borrowed with permission from KyssS90 on DeviantART.

Meg Griffin has led what is perhaps the most miserable existence anyone has lived. Cursed with a family that's indifferent to her, very few and forgettable friends, a complete lack of a love life, and life's countless curve balls, it seems Meg's only purpose in life is to be a catalyst for her family's sadism and apathy.

And when she expects it least, it all begins to change.

For someone has felt her suffering, and in a selfless act of mercy, has removed Meg from her wretched, backwards world, and brought her to a place virtually untouched by hardship and cynicism. Now in the body of a pony, Princesses Celestia and Luna usher Equestria's newest resident into a new life, a place where she can find true friends...and perhaps find love too.

That is, if Meg's past life doesn't catch up with her first.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: This story basically came about from a conversation I had with a friend about how much crap poor Meg has to go through on Family Guy. Somebody give that poor kid a hug. Anyways, this will probably not nearly be as well-received as The Adventures of Vaati, but I felt Meg deserved her own happy ending.

Vaati the Wind Mage has grown bored with the whole villain thing. He's trapped himself in a cycle doomed to repeat itself forever. Seeking a way to escape this miserable cycle of escape, kidnapping, and defeat, the legendary sorcerer inadvertantly teleports himself to another world entirely; a world populated by talking magical ponies who believe friendship is magic. Just how will the former villain survive this sugar bowl of a world? Will he end up learning a few lessons in friendship himself? One thing's for sure, retirement has never been this exciting.

AUTHOR NOTE: This story takes place in an episodic format. That is, it follows the style of the show in that every chapter is an 'episode', hence why they will all be lengthy. Some episodes will be canon ones with Vaati along for the ride, and others will be original where Vaati takes center-stage. The first episode takes place shortly after 'Griffon the Brush-Off'. Vaati is from Legend of Zelda and is property of Nintendo. You already know who owns FiM.
