When one makes an idiot-proof product, someone will make a better idiot. The same goes for Piracy. It started With unprotected CDs. People started sharing them, so they were protected with serial codes. Then pirates made keygens. They were protected with server-synced DRM, so pirates made the IP-blocker thingies (I don't recall the term.) They introduced proprietary hardware limited int software, so pirates jailbroke it. As protective technology grows, so does the technology made to deceive it.
I'm looking through my favorites and for the last ten pages of fanfiction, and all I see is the trend that either the fics are completed or they stopped updating in october of last year, and now I'm wondering what happened in october that could have made all of these authors drop what they were writing, and do whatever the hell else?
