I am so very proud of the writers, animators, producers, songwriters, and everyone who had a hoof in making this episode. They took a very heavy subject and made is accessible to children, while at the same time not dumbing it down to the level that many other shows for this age group tend to do. It's not hard to figure out what they were trying to accomplish and teach to children, and I am ecstatic and a bit teary eyed that they took this chance.

How ya'll doing? I know there isn't a whole lot of you, but I'm glad for those that are sticking around. So the holiday season is upon us once again. Truthfully I could do without the cold and the constant worry over gift buying. My poor bank account is getting a beating; doesn't help that no one is giving me clues on what to get them either. Hopefully the rest of you have escaped this anxiety ridden scenario, but that seems like a bad pipe dream.

So during your wait for chapter 2 of Wasteland Gospel (It's coming! I swear!) head on over and chat up another waste lander with some pesky questions. No really, she loves being bothered by strangers in the middle of a raider fight.

Sorry for the long wait on chapter 2.

While writing, to my horror, I noticed a huge plot hole that if left unfixed had the potential to crumble the story's development. To remedy this I had to go back to my chapter maps and shuffle things around. This also caused the creation of three new characters I had not planned to expand upon who now, thanks to my obsessive need to keep charts on everyone and everything in story, needed to be written up.

I'm inclined to say yes. Yes she is.

Maud Pie is a very interesting character. Of course she is all about rocks (I love rocks myself) and on the outside appeared to be nothing more than a humorless pony with little to no personality and a strange fondness for all things geologic in nature. And by the end of the episode this stays somewhat true. However new layers are added onto her that rocket this little mare into best pony status.
