Well to put it bluntly.

Having a protagonist who is quite well educated be treated as a 'stranger' to common medical procedure was a good hook for beginners, ponies having absolutely no value to a changeling's life is also a good hook for some readers, naming a random changeling and giving her a personality out of the blue does leave me to expect an early expiration date for poor old Skipper. You have made some good progress so far and I hope to read many more chapters in the near future.

Also, I think Skipper's random kiss sort of translates into 'I don't wanna die a virgin!'. Just sayin'.
