I actually donated the story. I think they give the money they get (beyond covering printing and shipping costs, I suppose) to charity? I remember them mentioning that they were nonprofit, which was part of the reason why no one involved faces any legal problems with Hasbro despite publishing fan-works of their intellectual property.
