Given a second chance in a land that was so different yet familiar and sometimes frighteningly similar to his own was something he was not going to moan about, even if the young man-turned-pony sometimes sure does feel the urge to do so. However this time - under the new name of Midnight Blackmane - he promised himself to strive for greatness...

After his fifth year, Harry Potter tries to come to terms with what happened in the Department of Mysteries. He decided that he needs to do something with his life, other than wallow in grief and self-pity. And when one is in great need The Room of Requirement provides the best solution... Or so Harry thought at the beginning of his journey through Old Equestria, but maybe just once the wish fulfilled, will turn out to be a curse.

As the newest Princess of Equestria, Twilight Sparkle will have to face many changes and challenges in her new life. However little does she realise that one of the major changes was set in motion a long time ago, as nopony can come out unscathed from a fight with a demigoddess. Now however, days after her coronation Twilight will have to face the consequences. And the decisions she will have to make in the nearest future may very well change Equestria forever.

What should one do when they find their current knowledge lacking? After the changeling attack, Twilight has to answer that question and for her the solution is simple enough. But her chosen path may yet turn out to be her downfall. Will the cost of knowledge be too high? Or will she be victorious in her journey into the paths of darker magic? One way or another Twilight will find it out as she learns under her new teacher. There is however one thing everypony close to Twilight should remember, that history likes to repeat itself...
