OK, so... just found out that two of the main characters in G1's My Little Pony Tales were named Melody and Patch.
This is mind boggling, considering I just discovered this, and I've had my story's main character name (Patch Melody) picked for quite some time now. This is just...phenomenal. So no, unfortunately my main character's name is not an awesome and obscure reference to G1. In fact, that goes for all of the future stories I have currently planned. All references will be in G4's timeline, and the names of OC's are purely coincidental to any existing pony names.

An old enemy from Iremane, Dissonance holds a grudge against Patch and will stop at nothing to make sure he doesn't interfere with her plans. She and her followers find the bright sounds of Equestria to be an annoyance, and they seek to steal the voice and songs from every pony.
