So it came to my attention while writing the very first sentence of chapter 5 that it's extremely easy to confuse the two of them, so I'm just going to refer to Mist by his first name, Azure. He'll be Mist in dialogue and such, but that should still be enough to make things a million times easier to read.

So I've been doing a lot of reading recently, and I realized 5k words per chapter might be a bit much. What do you guys think? I wanted to keep the chapter count fairly low, but I'm wondering if you all would prefer more, shorter chapters over fewer, longer chapters. I feel like that might be more appealing to read, but I'm not sure.

Apparently people really didn't like the story I just posted only like half an hour ago, and while that'd normally deeply bother me to the point where I'd probably stop writing for a while, I don't care this time. I didn't just write this story for fun. I wanted to write it for a friend I haven't heard from in a while. I'm not going to back down and I won't unsubmit the story. I just got a job earlier this week so I won't have nearly as much time to write (working almost 50 hours with my current schedule). As well as that I'm switching to a new bedroom and I finally got my learner's permit (just a few years late on that), so those are going to take up a bit more time for a while.

So two things.

1. The masses have spoken (and by that I mean one person voted on my poll), and they want me to continue the BattleTech spinoff (renamed to FiMTech) so that's what I'll do. I ordered the Legend of the Jade Phoenix trilogy and I'm gonna read the books as fast as I can before I start writing again, so hopefully that will enable me to make the clanners a bit more authentic in how they speak and act.
