FoolAmongTheStars

Sorry for being a Starlight Glimmer apologist

E

On the seventh night of the seventh month, instead of attending a busy festival with their friends, Sunburst and Starlight decide to hide away on the castle's roof to watch the fireworks from a distance and the constellations with a telescope. With the promise of clear skies, the only constellations they are most excited to see are two particular stars named after a peculiar love story.

A little StarBurst fluff loosely based on the Tanabata holiday but with an MLP twist.

Sunburst has gotten into the habit of waking up early on every Hearts and Hooves day to make breakfast for them.

Starlight doesn't know what to make of it until much, much later.

Just a little StarBurst fluff for the holiday (a very, very late one, but still!). Enjoy!

Somedays, he can't stand his reflection. But he's never been open about his insecurities and demons, so he doesn't say a thing, never brings it up, and hopes Starlight never notices.

Written for the Quills and Sofas Group as part of the LGBT+ Extravaganza!

Warnings: Dysphoria, body image issues, sappy romance, and Sunburst as a transgender character (FtM). Deal with it.

Rainy days are no fun for Starlight Glimmer, but maybe Sunburst can help her chase the clouds away.

Written for the A Thousand Words Contest in the Fluff category. Special thanks to Pen and Paper for prereading and their valuable input!

Five years ago, Starlight left, leaving her old life and a brokenhearted Sunburst behind.

But after an unfortunate accident, she is back and placed into Sunburst's care in the Crystal Empire, who despite everything is ready to do whatever it takes to save her...or at least he thinks he is.

Because it was never a question about if they loved each other, not between the two of them, but it will be a matter of forgiveness—the hardest thing to ask of somepony.

The hardest thing that Sunburst will ever have to do.

A StarBurst romantic drama, with Sleeping Beauty themes thrown in for good measure. Rated Teen for mentions of sex, a make-out scene or two, ponies doing stupid things rather than talking about their feelings, and other things I can't think of at the moment.

Sunburst never talked about his family, and Starlight never asked, but when she sees a letter from his father her curiosity was peaked—especially when it's confirmed that he was coming over for a visit, something that Sunburst is less than enthusiastic about.

But the million-bit question is why, after all this time, is he suddenly concerned about his son's welfare? Is it because of simple fatherly concern, or does Sunspot have something more devious in mind?

Either way, he's about to put Starlight and Sunburst to the test, let's see how much of his meddling can these two handle.

Spoiler alert, not a lot.

After wracking their brains for the perfect present, Sunburst and Starlight think that they found it, but that Hearth's Warming morning, they realize that the best gifts are those that don't fit in a box. For no present would be good enough for the smartest stallion and the most talented spell caster in the world.

Pointless StarBurst holiday fluff. Enjoy!

Sunburst lives in a perfectly synchronized society, where every second of his life is dictated by his Guide, Flurry Heart. But one day Flurry Heart goes awry.

Entry for the Science Fiction Contest. Based on the short film Kodemus, but watching it is not required to read this story.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, but it doesn't make you any less broken.

Starlight Glimmer is that kind of girl: strong, but broken at the same time, her edges jagged and sharp enough to cut anyone that dares to get too close to her.

But Sunburst can't help but be drawn to her, like a moth to a flame, trying to gather all her pieces and put her back together, even if he cuts his hands and bleeds in the process.

There might be some triggering issues such as the emotional aspects of mental and physical abuse, child neglect, alcoholism (not done by any of the main characters), bullying set in a high school, and a fair amount of drama and angst to go along the way. But this story is—at its core—a romance between a human Starlight and Sunburst.

Sunburst got the ring, he's got the girl, all he needs is her father's blessing.

But Firelight, the overprotective, overbearing parent that he is, won't give it up without a (metaphorical) fight.

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there! Don't be like the Firelight in this story and support your kids.
