Well hello · 7:08pm Oct 5th, 2019
Hello again, it’s only been, lemme check… two months?! Well… uh, whoops. So much for consistent posting.
The worst fanfic ever written is still better than the greatest story never told.

Yes, I’m still here. When I first made this account, I had intended to be a more active member of the community. I wanted to post something every week or so. Needless to say, that did not happen.
One year ago, I made this account and uploaded The Mask of Despair. Since then it’s had two-hundred forty views, no more than sixty-six total readings, fifteen votes (thirteen up, two down) twenty-two comments, and zero reviews. A single person contacted me with some detailed thoughts regarding the story.
As it says above, I did not expect this. I had expected this to get maybe 50 or so views over the first day or so, slowly climbing to around a hundred over the next week or two, and then flatten out somewhere short of 200. I had not expected 500 views within 12 hours-ish. As of now, it has something like 40% of all my views.
I’ve been in a good mood recently, which is a nice change of pace. Part of it is certainly some things which happened here on FimFiction. For one, Princess Estrella tried to promote Mask of Despair via a blog entry. She has only 16 followers, so I didn’t get a lot of new views, but its the thought that counts. For two, someone upvoted Mask of Despair! Which is amazing! It hasn’t received any votes (at all) since July!
It only took seven and a half months, but The Mask of Despair finally made it to 200 views. Joy. (that’s an average of not even one view per day.) Approximately a quarter of that have read the whole thing.
So the reviewer’s café reviews for The Nightmare Night Knightmare finally came out a little over a week ago. To my surprise, they did not entirely eviscerate it. I thought I would make a response to them. I really wanted to get this done last year, but things got in
Well, I’ve completed NaPoWriMo. My goal was 30k, I made nearly 33k. Not all of those words are worth reading, but there we go. I considered going for the full 50k for NaNoWriMo, but I knew it was not going to be fun. It hasn’t been fun for a long time. This year was going to have several large holes shot in my time towards the end of the month.
I continue to exist! A few weeks ago the Reviewer’s Café started a "make a fic staring a new OC contest." To which I said, "That's the easy part!" Being that most of my stories feature OCs anyway, I figured it wouldn't be hard. Joke's on me, only one other person bothered to take part.
My entry:
mushroompone's: It's pretty solid too.

I’m getting started on “The Ash of Fallen Stars” and I’ve finished the first few scenes. Progress has been slow. But I’m holding off on posting what I’ve got for a few reasons. Firstly, I want to get ahead in the story in case I come up with a kick-ass framing device or something. (”Mask of Despair” was a very different story before I came up with the framing device.) Second, I’m not entirely sold on how I’ve done the first scenes. They are… functional? I guess?
