She's surprisingly indifferent to it.

The search for life outside Earth, whether past or present, has been long and arduous. Some called it pointless, a waste of money, effort and time. Some called for it to stop, seeing no results.

Today, proto-colonist Amanda Chorol has discovered the remnants of life on Mars.

Applejack is absolutely certain there's nothing in her farm, nothing at all.

In a botched attempt at creating large-scale wormholes, Twilight Sparkle finds herself in an extremely strange and hostile space.

Or rather, lack of a space. And she isn't alone.

Rainbow Dash has something she needs to ask Twilight. Something personal.

With nothing happening, no world-conquering villains or Crystal Hearts being shattered and so on, Twilight is bored. She has nothing to do, plainly. But while in the middle of a drab reading session, she notices something doesn't feel right. Not to her, but in the night sky. She can't see it, but she can sense it. Something not from this world has entered her world, and it could be the first ever message from aliens.

And perhaps those aliens are trying to say hello.

Fluttershy is not cut out for being in the modeling career. That much is certain. She both gave to and received an apology from Rarity over the whole incident, but it still hasn't calmed her nerves. So many ponies saw her in a different light, and very publicly. Now she sits at a donut shop, waiting for her day to get worse.

But perhaps, it's simply the beginning of something hopeful?
