Reports of fires, ponies going missing, and a mysterious new enemy are just a few things the crew discover in a twisted game of cat-and-mouse. Will the return of an unlikely mare be the answer to solving the case? Or is she the problem? Only time will tell as the ponies follow the clues back to their source.

Everyday, it is a constant struggle. We battle the thoughts in our mind. We wrestle with the decisions of life. Are we brave enough to face them alone? Within the confines of the Golden Oak Library, Twilight Sparkle encounters a similar situation. Without the use of her magic, she must fight an unknown source of power and find out his true identity.

Twilight Sparkle wants to improve her relationship with her friends and therefore invites them to a picnic. However, something else is happening behind the scenes. They all appear to fear Applejack and be acting very unusual for such a simple activity. Fluttershy isn't talking, Pinkie Pie seems upset, Rainbow Dash is forgetting things, and Rarity isn't eating. Can Twilight Sparkle pull the ponies together before Princess Celestia arrives?

Moonlight wishes to leave home but doesn't want to tell his mother directly. He pours out his thoughts onto a piece of paper and intentionally leaves it behind. The letter describes important past events and his plans for the future.
