Ever since she first rescued Fluttershy from the bullies at flight school all those years ago, Rainbow Dash has been caring for her as her best friend; together, they have faced all sorts of trials - dragon and parasprite alike - whilst coming to respect each other's differences. Both of them are happy with their friendship as it stands, but a single comment from Fluttershy is enough to get them thinking that, perhaps, there could be more. Will they be brave enough to take that next step or will they choose to keep things, safe and simple, as they are?

It's Scootaloo's birthday; a lavish party is being prepared for her at Sugarcube Corner, but all she really wants to do is spend some time with Rainbow Dash. Unfortunately, the hectic touring schedule of the Wonderbolts makes it difficult for her adopted big sister to be there for her as much as she used to. Still, that doesn't mean that Rainbow Dash isn't capable of pulling of a surprise or two.

Arriving late at Fluttershy's cottage one night, Rainbow Dash has something on her mind that - for once - has nothing to do with flying or danger, or flying into danger. Fluttershy soon learns that her friend's burgeoning relationship with Scootaloo is growing into something more: they're becoming as close as sisters and Rainbow Dash feels herself to be singularly unsuited for such a role of responsibility. Can Fluttershy convince her otherwise

Unable to sleep one night, a restless Princess Celestia roams the halls of Canterlot Castle in the hopes of wearing her mind out; instead, she finds herself pursued by ... something. Something with a dark, sinister purpose that is capable of rewriting reality around her. More terrifying than that, it may even have a vision of the future of one of her closest friends.

Rainbow Dash: one of the finest athletes in Canterlot High, and blessed with boundless potential; those who know her best are in no doubt that, in whichever sport she finally decides to pursue, she will go all the way to the top. But if the vagaries of fate are to rob her of her abilities, what's left for her?

The events of the Sunset Shimmer incident are weeks in the past and everyone is doing their best to move on from it, including Sunset herself; she wants to make amends for her mistakes and forge better relationships with the people of her adopted world, but they don't make it easy. Few, if any, are willing to take a chance on her save for the friends of Princess Twilight.

Perhaps there is at least one other out there who might show her a little understanding?

Luna has returned! Equestria rejoices as the Princess of the Night is once again free to take up her mantle. Princess Celestia is relieved that a millennium-long nightmare has come to an end finally. Nightmare Moon has been expunged, all traces of her destroyed permanently by the Elements of Harmony. There's absolutely no chance that some small residue clings to life, lodged deep within Luna's fragile psyche, right?

To many, Fluttershy's gift - her way with animals - is simply an innate talent that she possesses. Perhaps they even think of it as a blessing from her Element? As far as Fluttershy is concerned, it's no blessing. Like any skill, it takes practice to achieve its full potential, and sometimes, as Rarity is about to discover, it pulls Fluttershy in directions that she is not always comfortable with exploring.

Rainbow Dash is the best flier in Equestria. No less an authority than Princess Celestia herself has declared this to be the case, and with the royal seal of approval the fearless pegasus continues on her journey to becoming a Wonderbolt. Which isn't to say that she doesn't still have the occasional accident, however.

And when she does, she isn't the only one that's in pain.

Flying the dark and dangerous outskirts of Ponyville at night? No problem for Rainbow Dash.

Dealing with a depressed, forlorn Princess of the Night who is worried about her place in a new world? Er, can I take a pass on that? No? Oh, well.

Whilst out flying one night, Rainbow Dash hears the plaintive lament of Princess Luna, who fears that Celestia will never truly forgive her for her past misdeeds. Will she be the one to offer her solace in her time of need?
