During the Pony-Mustang War, a platoon of engineers is tasked with recovering a lost tank two hundred meters in front of the wire. A simple task, but even the simplest tasks can be lethal during a war, and Lieutenant Iron Star must bring as many ponies as he can back alive.

Enraged by the murder of his father, king Garibald Talonuel III declares his kingdom independent from the Griffonian Empire. While Wingbardians are elated by the news, the Empire is not willing to let such a thing pass. Now Talonuel must defend his nation's independence on the fields of politics, espionage, and battle.
