Rainbow and Sunset are just normal roommates. Dash is always losing her keys, forgetting to lock her door and the like, normal roomie things. They are just a normal couple of girls living together in a small neighborhood. Rainbow decides to attempt changing their simple relationship and make it so much more complicated than it needs to be.

Trixie's normal life of turning shows from town to town gets slightly difficult for her, so she decides to settle in Ponyville for some time. According to the law, her carriage is unfit for living, forcing her to vacate and find a new residence. It just so happens an apartment dweller is looking for a roommate. This perfect turn of events is too good to pass up for Trixie.
