With nothing left in Equestria, Chrysalis flies to the southern-most reaches of the Dragon Lands, where she recalls memories of her deceased love, Stormclaw. As she climbs the slopes of an isolated mountain, Chrysalis remembers him telling her his story, and what caused the black dragon to walk the path of destruction.
Chrysalis understands more and more that his story did not end with his demise, and shall continue on... through her.

All of Equestria holds its breath as the hunt for the black dragon, Stormclaw, and his ally, Queen Chrysalis, continues. Following the events of the attack on Canterlot, many have come to the ponies' aid, attempting to track down and capture the two villains.
Princess Twilight Sparkle and her friends, shaken by what happened during the attack, must push past their sorrow and fear, for they are soon to face the ultimate challenge. With the princesses scattered and Equestria vulnerable, they must find a way to protect their home and those they love from the darkness that they all know is drawing near. The trials and hardships of all our favorite ponies have led them to this, the defining moment in all their lives.
Although the ponies, dragons, griffons, and changelings have all banded together in defiance of this evil, they have yet to understand the truth behind the dark veil. The fate of all the world hangs in the balance as one pony clings to the light, even amidst a storm of shadows. Will the light be enough to save him? Or does his destiny end in destruction? It is time for Shadow Light to remember what we all have come to understand.

Following the events of the CMCs and Zecora escaping from the black dragon, Stormclaw, they found themselves taking shelter under the protection of the nymphs in their hidden village of Sunveil. Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Applejack just recently found the village in search of their little sisters, finding Zecora and Daring Do in the process.
While the adults talk to the elder, the CMCs are left to explore the village of the once thought to be extinct race of the nymphs.

With no explanation for these events, the griffons and the dragons have become primed for war. On top of this, Zecora has been missing for over a month, and many ponies have assumed the worst.
Twilight and her friends must stay true to their elements and help steer the world back onto a path of peace if any hope of finding Zecora is to be found.
While the ponies are distracted, the black dragon known as Stormclaw prepares to play out the second phase of his dark plan. With the help of Princess Twilight's greatest foes, his ambitions may become a reality, placing the fate of the world behind a single question:

Starfall Blitz, Princess Twilight's royal guard, has found himself aligned on a date with Vinyl Scratch. As he arrives at the Neon Palace, he tries telling himself the night will go by fast, and that he can return to the castle for some well-needed rest.
But we all know DJ-Pon3 much better than that.

Following the aftermath of Queen Chrysalis' evil plot to take over Equestria, and the transformation of the Changeling Kingdom, Princess Celestia has insisted that Twilight Sparkle be guarded 24/7 by a trained royal guard. Having refused the offer to be guarded before, Twilight is not too keen on being watched over every moment of every day.
Although she is doubtful at first, Twilight comes to believe that she and her friends have many challenges yet to face.
As this new development unfolds, a creature of unknown origins comes to Equestria with a dark purpose. Light becomes cast over the shadows of Equestria’s ancient past, and a well known truth may come to save this peaceful land.
