After viewing the deleted-scene clips from Friendship Games (which I hadn’t done before) and pondering the dialog, I wonder if, in addition to stealing the spotlight from Sci-Twi, there’s another reason Sunset’s plot thread was removed: It isn’t simply that she’s homesick—though I believe she probably is, underneath—it’s that she’s restless as well.
I’d like to continue Lectern’s New and Used Books, but at the moment the well is dry. I’m willing to entertain suggestions or prompts for further non-adventures about the girls, the store, the owner, and anything else that seems germane or appropriate.
So: If you have any ideas, send them in with your box-tops! (Does anyone else remember box-tops?)
This is a random collection of useful and relevant information on English usage and convention. New topics are added as they occur to me, so the reader may wish to check back at intervals. FanOfMostEverything also provides a grab-bag of English rules and tips, along with additional links, and of course the site FAQ is another good resource.
Every author, whether working in actual canon or as a fan, must start from a set of basic premises and axioms. For myself, I find Ms. Faust’s original concepts and ideas for Equestria and the characters living therein, as described in various Q&A and interview sessions, far more compelling than the anachronistic hodgepodge that has developed over the course of the series. Necessarily there are some compromises, but I’ve tried to minimize those.
